How does Universal Design for Learning relate to what you have learned so far in your other classes?

In our previous classes we learned that the main goal of units and lessons are that the students gain a deep understanding of the material.  In ULD this is also the case; ULD focuses on using different methods of teaching so that children are able to have the deep understanding of a topic or content.

How might UDL impact that achievement of all students in the classroom?

ULD will impact achievement in a positive way because it focuses on teaching using the students’ interests and abilities.  This will improve achievement because students will try harder when they are learning about things that interest them.  Also ULD uses different methods of teaching the same content.  This is important because not every student learns the same way, so having different methods of teaching a topic will reach a wider range of students.
